Five Independent Artists.
One Afternoon.

Five independent artists from distinctly different musical backgrounds will come together Sunday, September 13 for an afternoon designed to be more than a concert.

Rather than having each artist perform a traditional set, the five acts will perform two songs at a time, rotating through the lineup several times throughout the afternoon. The format is designed to encourage discovery and interaction between artists and audiences.

But the event will begin with a conversation. Before the music starts, Blanco will bring the performers together to discuss the realities of being an independent artist in today's music business — including finding audiences, creating opportunities, supporting one another, collaborating and building sustainable creative communities.

The event takes place at Camarillo Barrel Works — the newly renovated space formerly known as Cantara Cellars and Flat Fish Brewing, now featuring house-brewed beers, wine, cocktails and a full kitchen alongside live entertainment.

The Camarillo Singer-Songwriter Afternoon is intended as the beginning of a special monthly series, bringing together artists from different backgrounds and musical communities for performances, conversation and connection.

The Truck Stop Mixtape Open Mic Party is Tarzana's premier weekly music gathering — a real room with real listeners, hosted by Giovanny Blanco every single Wednesday night.

All styles welcome: singer-songwriters, bands, poets, comedians. Whether you're a seasoned pro or it's your first time stepping to a mic, you'll find a supportive crowd and a great sound system waiting for you.

Special guest performers drop in regularly. Bar 10 at Corbin is a neighborhood bar that genuinely loves live music — come early for a good seat.

The Truck Stop Mixtape Singer-Songwriter Sessions are a monthly afternoon gathering built around one idea: original artists deserve a dedicated audience — people who show up specifically to hear new music.

Each session brings together a curated mix of performers across genres and backgrounds. The format rotates through artists throughout the afternoon, giving everyone multiple opportunities to perform and giving the audience a chance to discover someone new.

Sessions are hosted by Giovanny Blanco, who opens with a brief conversation with the artists — about their music, their process, and what it means to be building something independently.
